Voting now CLOSED for 24 Hour Songwriting Challenge 2021

Voting now CLOSED for 24 Hour Songwriting Challenge 2021

Over the Easter weekend songwriters were challenged to write a brand new song within 24 hours inspired by a work of art in the 24 Hour Art Challenge gallery.

When the 24 hours were up 15 songwriters had submitted a song.

All of the entries are now online in a Liverpool Acoustic YouTube channel playlist.

The YouTube description for each video contains:-

  • The name of the songwriter(s) and the title of the song
  • The name of the artist whose work inspired the song, and a link to an image of the art
  • The song lyrics

We’ve also added these songs to the 2021 Gallery below the work of art that inspired it. You can find the gallery at challenge.liverpoolacoustic.co.uk/gallery2021

Our four judges – Kaya Herstad-Carney, Luke Moore, Dr Derek King, and Alison Benson – will be scoring each song to find the Judges’ Award Winner.

Just like last year we’ll also be putting the songs to a public vote to find the Public Favourite winner.

To do this we’re asking the public to listen to all of the songs, read the lyrics, look at the art that inspired them, then vote for their favourite.

Voting is open for 24 hours from 12pm (noon) on Wednesday 7th April.

The winner will be announced on the afternoon of Thursday 8th April.

Voting is now CLOSED.
